About This Role

Serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, and operations as an Airport Armed Law Enforcement Officer in Kahului, HI. Provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and uphold values of teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, its travelers, and airport operations
  • Interact with the public and provide outstanding customer service
  • Communicate clearly while upholding values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first
  • Carry out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
  • Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions
  • Take orders, follow instructions, and assume responsibility for one's actions
  • Recognize, respond and take appropriate and corrective actions to various situations
  • Provide court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA, if required

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)
  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Law Enforcement Officer License
  • 22+ years of age
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment
  • No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn
  • Ability to supervise Contractor's personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required
  • In good physical health and fully capable of performing duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion
  • Ability to understand and speak English clearly

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent, certified State/County/Federal law enforcement recruit training or approved programs by the Director
  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level)

Nice to Have

  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders
