Aircraft Fuel Sealer

About This Role

Perform a variety of tasks related to sealing aircraft fuel cells and major assemblies, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications. This role involves working with blueprints, documentation, and various sealing compounds, while also assisting in continuous product flow.

Responsibilities

• Seal, fillet, fay, and cap seal for major assemblies, sub-assemblies, precision bench, and integral fuel cells
• Apply scotch cast, levelling compound, aerodynamic seal, and perform pressure tests according to drawings and specifications
• Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, and work orders to ensure quality sealing
• Complete required data gathering transactions for sealer progression
• Perform pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing, or checks during or after final seal
• Use measuring instruments to accomplish work assignments
• Report and/or investigate job handicaps like errors, assembly procedures, or tools
• Support continuous product flow by training, coaching, and assisting employees
• Document discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure
• Temporarily attach parts and assemblies, install collars and other hardware not related to drilling or countersinking
• Apply sealing compounds to seal integral fuel cells and related wing section components
• Perform major assembly/large structure sealing and aerodynamic seal procedures

Requirements

• Skill and knowledge to perform integral fuel cell sealing
• Ability to work with blueprints, changes, specifications, and work orders
• Proficiency in applying various sealing compounds like scotch cast, levelling compound, aerodynamic seal
