The Administrative Assistant I - Clinical supports assigned practitioners by providing high-quality, confidential administrative assistance and ensuring smooth departmental operations. This role focuses on enhancing patient care through efficient scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks within a clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality and confidential administrative support to assigned providers
- Answer, screen, and triage telephone calls in a positive, professional, and helpful manner using the Bassett three-part greeting
- Take detailed and accurate messages and ensure required follow-through occurs within an acceptable timeframe
- Accurately type all memoranda, reports, and correspondence, maintaining knowledge in necessary computer programs for clinical operations
- Utilize EPIC and Microsoft Outlook to manage provider schedules and schedule patients as needed
- Maintain accurate calendars for providers and coordinate all related paperwork for meetings, time off, and travel
- Process all clinical paperwork (dictation, labs, pathologies, prescriptions) accurately
- Schedule outpatient appointments via telephone request, reminder lists, and bump lists, adhering to departmental protocols
- Communicate with various departments and coordinate appointments for diagnostic testing
- Collect and record pertinent information for obtaining authorization for diagnostic testing and medication
- Act as a receiving point for patient concerns and complaints, referring unresolved issues to a supervisor/manager or provider
- Communicate care plans and scheduled appointments to patients/families within 24-72 hours
Requirements

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred; Administrative Assistant training or AAS degree, preferred
- Minimum 2 years Administrative Assistant experience, required; Bachelor's degree may be substituted for one year of work experience
