Accounts Receivable

About This Role

Process and record incoming payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records to ensure the smooth operation of accounts receivable. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process, scan, and record incoming payments—including checks and electronic transactions—accurately and on time
• Apply payments to customer accounts, including resolving cases with missing or unclear remittance information
• Contact clients to request missing payment details or address discrepancies
• Collaborate with internal departments to clarify billing or payment-related issues
• Communicate with vendors to obtain refund information or resolve unapplied credits
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Use Microsoft Excel for reporting, account tracking, and data entry
• Maintain organized, accurate records of payment communications and transactions
• Post billing invoices generated by the operations team and identify any discrepancies or errors
• Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts receivable transactions in compliance with accounting standards

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in accounts receivable or a related finance role
• Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and data entry
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or accounting/business coursework is a plus
• 1+ year of experience in accounts receivable or a related finance role
