About This Role

This role involves assisting with daily accounting operations, preparing financial documents, and supporting month-end closing procedures to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily accounting operations including data entry, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, and receipts for subsidiaries
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow transactions
  • Assist in monthly closing of accounts, schedules, and reconciliations
  • Support project costing by tracking expenses related to vessels, jobs, and work orders
  • Maintain proper documentation for vendor invoices, purchase orders, and delivery orders
  • Assist in inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Prepare GST reporting and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Assist auditors during audits by preparing schedules and supporting documents

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GST
  • Proficient in intermediate Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Good communication and coordination skills

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with accounting software (MYOB, SAP, or similar systems)
