Accounting Manager

About This Role

Oversee financial operations and reporting for an organization in Elyria, Ohio, managing accounting functions, supervising a team, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements for accurate stakeholder reporting
• Supervise and support a part-time clerk handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Oversee month-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Conduct audits related to employee benefits, including 401(k) plans
• Manage human resources tasks, ensuring compliance with organizational policies
• Lead office management duties to maintain smooth day-to-day operations
• Handle benefit distributions and ensure timely processing for employees
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts

Requirements

• Proven experience in month-end close procedures
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management
• Familiarity with conducting financial statement audits
• Proficiency in reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries
• Experience with employee stock ownership plans and benefit audits
• Ability to manage and supervise accounting staff effectively
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred
