This Accounting Analyst position involves managing financial transactions like amortization, allocation, and accruals. The role ensures financial record integrity through balance sheet reconciliations, compiles financial reports, and supports the closing process across financial periods, while also performing thorough variance analyses.
Responsibilities
- Record and manage financial transactions through journal entries, focusing on amortization, allocation, and accruals
- Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations as per company policy
- Compile and maintain comprehensive financial reports for tracking and distribution of expenses
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, including variance analysis
- Maintain rigorous documentation for audits and adhere to accounting standards and regulations
Requirements
- Strong Excel skills - ability to perform basic functions (sum, divide, multiply, formulas, copy/paste logic, filters)
- Ability to follow structured instructions/playbooks with accuracy and consistency
- Hands-on accounting exposure - AR/AP or junior accounting acceptable
- Comfort handling volume-heavy spreadsheets (hundreds-thousands of lines)
- Ability to work 4 days/week onsite in Dayton, OH
Qualifications
- Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in the finance or accounting sector, with a preference for candidates familiar with supporting diverse business areas.
