Accounting Analyst

About This Role

This Accounting Analyst position is a key member of the accounting team, responsible for ensuring accurate preparation of financial information and reports, timely completion of the period close process, and review of account reconciliations. The role supports business partners by providing accurate accounting information to enable sound decisions and drive management actions.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close process, including reviewing and reconciling month-end data reports for respective journal entries
• Evaluate accuracy and reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners
• Prepare and record all associated journal entries and ensure balances reflected in financial statements are accurate
• Prepare, analyze, and review monthly reports and stand-alone and consolidated fluctuation analyses
• Complete Quarterly, Calendar Year, and Fiscal Year Reporting by preparing financial statements and supporting schedules for external financial audits
• Provide information required for periodic regulatory audits and tax reporting
• Determine appropriate GAAP accounting treatment and implement accounting and reporting requirements
• Independently prepare and respond to ad-hoc requests from internal departments in a timely and accurate manner
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes without impairing controls and propose recommendations to management
• Lead and/or support management-directed special projects

Requirements

• Four-year college degree (BA or BS)
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong accounting knowledge and expertise
• Strong written documentation skills and written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills, initiative, and ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to quickly learn new applications or software tools

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree (BA or BS)
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar field and/or industry

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Experience working with ERP applications; SAP preferred
• Public accounting experience with a national firm
