About This Role

This role involves performing complex clerical work related to maintaining subsidiary ledgers, accounts, and quantitative records for the State of Hawaiʻi's Department of Human Services, Hawaii Public Housing Authority Division.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the maintenance of subsidiary ledgers and other complex clerical work in the maintenance of accounts and quantitative records, with or without the use of accounting machines
  • Supervise and participate in performing moderately complex clerical work
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Six months of work experience demonstrating knowledge of arithmetic and spelling and ability to follow oral and written directions
  • One year of work experience involved in posting to accounting records and other systematizing of fiscal information
  • Knowledge of standard accounting classification and terminology pertinent to accounts maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures relating to the processing and recording of transactions and accounting information
  • Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Six months of general work experience demonstrating knowledge of arithmetic and spelling, plus one year of specialized work experience involved in posting to accounting records and systematizing fiscal information.
