Supervise a team of airport maintenance and repair personnel to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and aircraft operational areas at a primary airport. This role involves planning, scheduling, and reviewing work, as well as responding to emergencies to maintain airport operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a group of several airport maintenance repairers
- Direct the maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and aircraft operational areas of a primary airport
- Plan, lay out, assign and review the work of airport maintenance repairers
- Determine the need for building repairs and develop a schedule of preventive maintenance
- Estimate time and materials needed to perform maintenance and repair jobs
- Keep records of inventory, staff and other matters
- Make oral and written reports
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions pertinent to airport operations
- Deal effectively with other supervisory levels in organizing and expediting work
- Respond to emergencies
Requirements
- 8 years of work experience in building and equipment repair
- 4 years as a fully competent worker in building and equipment repair
- 1 year of supervisory experience including planning, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and training
- Knowledge of basic practices and methods in building and equipment maintenance and repair, including safety procedures
- Knowledge of common tools, equipment, and materials used in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry trades
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision
- Ability to read blueprints and sketches
- Possession of a valid State of Hawaii motor vehicle operator's license, Type 3
- Ability to obtain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance
Qualifications
- Eight (8) years of work experience in performing a variety of building and equipment repair work, including four years as a fully competent worker and one year of supervisory experience.
