Yard Associate

About This Role

This role involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, checking products for defects, and preparing goods for shipping. The Yard Associate will also operate and maintain delivery vehicles and machinery, ensuring a safe and organized yard environment for a leading provider of temporary event structures.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing shipments by checking them physically
• Check products for defects and accuracy
• Pull, pack and ship finished goods
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicles
• Inspect machinery for repair needs and perform regular maintenance
• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
• Pull orders from shelves, and then place and secure onto pallet
• Communicate with managers to identify equipment in need of maintenance
• Ensure appropriate safety measures are followed
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment properly at the end of each shift
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• May occasionally help on local job-sites (building and tearing down of structures and loading of trucks)

Requirements

• High school or equivalent education
• Current Valid Drivers License
• Willingness to travel occasionally to sites under construction in the US
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening requirements
• Familiarity with basic hand tools
• Attention to detail and ability to become familiar with industrial equipment
• Ability to work overtime occasionally
• Ability to read and understand safety instructions
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
• Ability to repeatedly lift-up to 75Ibs

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Forklift License
• Bi-lingual in Spanish and English
• Forklift experience and license
• Willingness to complete forklift training
• Experience with the loading and unloading of trucks (flat-beds and/or trailers)
• Small engine repair and maintenance skills
