Welder Operator

About This Role

This Welder Operator position at Qualitrol is responsible for performing daily shop tasks, primarily TIG, SPOT, and BRAIZE welding, to ensure high-quality and efficient production of products using brass, aluminum, and stainless steel materials. The role is critical to the production operation and supports overall delivery targets.

Responsibilities

• Support the accomplishment of Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets
• Perform quality checks on welded metal parts at different stages through the process
• Track and account for parts and adhere to the Kanban process for parts replenishment
• Work in both metric as well as the U.S. standard units of measure
• Set up, operate and/or maintain production equipment, machines and tools using process documents, diagrams, and written instructions
• Use a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• Produce set-ups and adjustment holding tolerances to blueprint specification
• Inspect incoming raw parts from outside vendors as necessary
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean methodologies
• Perform duties using regular test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices, and specifications
• Receive instructions on routine work assignments and general instructions on new assignments
• Communicate effectively, troubleshoot, and use good judgment when resolving problems
• Figure out material, parts, and equipment required
• Complete testing for functionality and criteria

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
• Basic Shop Mathematics skills
• Solid understanding of measuring tools
• Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions; attention to detail
• Able to work and communicate effectively with others
• Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed
• Ability to observe and follow company safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

• Related welding experience preferred.
