About This Role

This role performs material handling, custody, and control functions within a warehouse to support construction field activities, including shipping, receiving, tool issuing, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day to day activities of the warehouse department, including shipping and receiving of products and materials
  • Issue tools and manage documentation and inventory control
  • Select and prepare daily shipments, including pulling orders, packaging, and completing freight/invoice paperwork
  • Palletize and wrap skids, and deliver completed orders to designated shipping areas or disciplines
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks for received items
  • Examine and inspect items for damage and defects; identify incorrect/short shipped items
  • Pack, unpack, and mark stock items using identification labels and stickers
  • Perform onsite warehouse inventories, maintenance, and restocking, fill backorders and product bins
  • Ensure all shipping/receiving documents are completed accurately and on time
  • Operate forklift and other equipment such as stand-up lift, sit-down lift, propane, and scissor lifts

Requirements

  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management/supervision
  • Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools
  • Ability to constantly move about a construction/industrial site (stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl)
  • Ability to work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • Ability to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold (may exceed 200 feet)
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Required tools
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Ability to pass fit for duty medical

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Previous years of experience in the field or in a related area is a plus, but entry-level accepted.

  • Field experience in chosen craft discipline
  • U.S. Driver License
