Vocational Nurse LVN

About This Role

Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients within a correctional managed care setting. Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients
• Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures
• Review and, under supervision, modify the nursing plan of care
• Observe and record patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status
• Deliver designated nursing interventions consistent with the state medical plan of care
• Notify appropriate nursing and medical staff of changes in patient status
• Follow physician's orders in the delivery of nursing care
• Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records
• Safely and properly administer medications and treatments
• Execute written physician's orders for assigned patients
• Assemble equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures
• Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques
• Document nursing care in all assigned patient records

Requirements

• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program
• Current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas
• Current BLS-HP

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program
• No experience required; will consider recent graduates.

Certifications
