VDC Manager

About This Role

Manage the on-site VDC process for construction projects, facilitating production and model development and implementing advanced technologies to support VDC initiatives. This role leverages Building Information Models (BIM) for increased accuracy in preconstruction.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and support VDC staff, creating and utilizing models for schedule optimization
• Collaborate with project teams to develop BIM plans and strategy, and implement VDC program activities for projects
• Maintain quality assurance of design, support BIM implementation in pre-construction, and lead development of project BIM deliverables
• Develop and maintain BIM/VDC technologies and processes, providing training and communication for changes
• Implement various BIM modeling applications and provide technical knowledge of BIM applications, related systems, and new technology
• Assist project teams with BIM coordination, budget development, and reviews, and communicate BIM benefits to clients
• Maintain, evaluate, and report VDC metrics, and keep an accurate database of VDC implementation costs per project
• Effectively communicate BIM plans and coordination with field supervision, trade partners, and project teams
• Review trade partner BIM qualifications and advise project teams, ensuring compliance with BIM requirements
• Work with the reality capture team or service providers to perform laser scanning services
• Assist IT services with troubleshooting BIM software issues for local users

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in VDC/BIM 3D modeling, construction technology or related field
• Specific technical expertise with VDC systems
• Proficiency with VICO, Navisworks, Revit, Assemble and other A/C/E industry design technology
• Proficiency with Auto Desk Suite and MS Office Suite
• Complete understanding of building design, construction, operations, sequencing, techniques and systems, CPM scheduling and preconstruction services
• Ability to read and understand contract documents and drawings
• Thorough understanding of documentation procedures, project contracts and specifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in VDC/BIM 3D modeling, construction technology or related field with specific technical expertise in VDC systems
