The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales of vAuto products to franchise and independent car dealerships, aiming to generate revenue and grow the customer base within an assigned territory. This role involves building strong relationships with dealer principals and providing insights on vAuto products to help dealers achieve their business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for sales of vAuto products to franchise and independent car dealerships, including groups up to 9 rooftops.
- Generate and maximize sales revenue and increase customers in a territory.
- Offer creative solutions to help dealers reach their business objectives.
- Provide insights on vAuto products to internal partners regarding key dealer business challenges.
- Reinforce the value of existing vAuto and Cox Auto products and serve as a primary point of contact for vAuto.
- Own, deepen, and continually build relationships with responsible dealers.
- Use the Challenger-based selling approach to manage and successfully close complex sales opportunities.
- Use insight and consultative selling techniques to provide feedback to clients on industry trends, strategies, and challenges.
- Partner with client stakeholders to build consensus for Cox Automotive Retail Solutions products within their organization.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue sales goals.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with vAuto
- Successful usage of Salesforce (SFX) as part of your sales workflow
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Reside within New York State or Connecticut
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
- 6 years of experience in a related field, or a Master's degree and 4 years, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 10 years of experience in a related field.
Nice to Have
- Minimum 1 year experience in outside regional sales management
- 5+ years of knowledge in automotive software, advertising, or automotive software sales experience
- Strong knowledge of the automotive industry, especially automotive dealerships, pricing, appraising, merchandising, and acquisition
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building, collaboration, sales, and territory management skills
- Ability to use and interpret research and data to help customers find opportunities for improvement
- Excellent database management and customer service skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivated and disciplined with an energetic, engaging personality
