About This Role

This role involves participating in UXO surface and subsurface removal as part of a crew. Duties include escorting other crews, excavating identified anomalies, and identifying and demolishing munitions and explosives of concern.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential MEC items in the field as they are encountered
  • Escort reacquisition crews, geophysical crews, and vegetation removal crews
  • Inspect expended ordnance, ordnance related materials and range residue to verify presence or absence of energetic materials
  • Ensure demilitarization of ordnance, military type vehicles and assorted residue
  • Operate hand held radiation detection instruments to screen range residue for low-level radioactive waste items
  • Operate handheld geophysical equipment and conduct range sweeps to locate surface and subsurface anomalies
  • Identify unexploded ordnance, fuzes and fuze conditions
  • Excavate and identify anomalies
  • Demolition of munitions and explosives of concern (MEC) and MEC related items
  • Continuously communicate with project team, clients and Project Managers

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Graduate of a military EOD school or an accredited UXO Tech I course
  • 0-3 years combined military EOD and civilian contractor UXO experience in all phases of UXO and UXO related operations
  • Experience performing all functions enumerated for UXO Sweep Personnel, UXO Technician I as defined in U.S. Army Engineering Pamphlet EP-1110-1-18, Chapter 20

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Zero (0) – Three (3) years combined military EOD and civilian contractor UXO experience in all phases of UXO and UXO related operations
