The Utility Systems Repairer-Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical power generating equipment, chillers, HVAC systems, and boilers at Buckley SFB in Aurora, CO. This role ensures the continuous and safe operation of critical utility systems for the United States Air Force.
Responsibilities
- Operate electrical power plant AC and DC switchgear for electrical power control and distribution
- Install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace and overhaul generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution switchgear
- Operate, install, inspect, repair, troubleshoot, replace, and overhaul chillers and all chiller plant support equipment
- Operate, install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul large HVAC systems, subsystems, and components
- Operate an Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) to monitor and control HVAC systems
- Utilize established safety practices, rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Requirements
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security clearance
- Knowledge of technical practices for operating and maintaining boilers, auxiliary, and pollution control equipment
- Skill in using measuring instruments and interpreting diagrams, drawings, and operating manuals
- Skills in Power Support System Mechanic or Air Conditioning Mechanical trade
