The Nondestructive Testing technician will independently perform inspections utilizing various NDT techniques, interpret indications, and report results to detect corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions. This role involves maintaining NDT certification, communicating with customers, and potentially supervising apprentice-level personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards, practices, and legal regulations
- Assist the Sr. Technician and instruct apprentice-level personnel on the job
- Study to gain NDT certifications while assisting to gain hands-on experience in various NDT methods
- Perform NDT inspections for which certified
- Interpret and report results of inspections
- Maintain documentation of inspection activities
- Perform supervisory activities over apprentice-level personnel on the job as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of basic math
- Ability to work in Microsoft Word
- Ability to work with computers / computerized equipment
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
- Minimum 2 years experience in NDT field as a certified technician in at least 2 methods
- Ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner
- Ability to follow instructions
