About This Role

Serve as an Urgent Care Provider Floater across 10-15 clinics in the NW Atlanta region, managing episodic and chronic conditions for patients aged 2 and up. This role is crucial for providing essential medical services and maintaining continuity of care across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent and non-urgent presentation
  • Select, order, perform and interpret tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patient condition and augment physical findings
  • Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury
  • Perform procedures including laceration repair, orthopedics and provide referrals to medical specialists
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients
  • Notate findings and treatment course in patient electronic chart including follow-up notes
  • Perform physicals—including sports, DOT, non-DOT, pre-employment and annuals
  • Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries, coordinating with employer/clients to balance the needs of the patient and requirements of the employer
  • Oversee mid-level providers working independently at clinics within the region, when necessary.
  • Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments as the sole advanced practice provider for those ages 2 and up.
  • Perform minor office procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage, toenail removal, and orthopedic splinting.

Requirements

  • Appropriate state license required
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens and others
  • Understanding of medical coding and billing
  • Detail-oriented and confident in medical best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with every patient interaction
  • Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email and Microsoft Office as well as EMR applications

Qualifications

  • Doctorate (DO / MD) or master’s degree (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
  • 2+ years’ experience in providing patient care as a Physician, Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Nice to Have

  • ABMS Board certification in internal medicine or family practice
  • Experience with occupational health practices including DOT qualification, drug testing protocols, employment physicals, and OSHA guidelines
