Upper School Science Teacher

About This Role

St. Michael's Catholic Preparatory School is seeking a full-time, on-campus Science teacher for grades 9-12 to educate students in mind, body, and spirit within a Catholic tradition. The role involves teaching 4-5 science sections, leading an advisory, and participating in community service and retreats.

Responsibilities

• Teach 4-5 sections of science for grades 9-12, including Honors or AP courses
• Lead an advisory for students
• Participate in on-going community service projects and retreats with students and fellow teachers
• Design and teach winter term mini courses
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards students, staff and faculty
• Be passionate about pedagogy and collaborative work
• Commit to carrying out the mission of the school
• Work closely with colleagues on departmental objectives
• Contribute to the Winter Term program
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity in all aspects of school life

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Exceptional organization, classroom management, time management and prioritization skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication (written and verbal)
• Belief in students and their ability to grow and develop
• Ability and deep commitment to meeting the needs of diverse student learners
• Commitment to collaboration and professional development
• Wide-ranging academic preparation in Science
