About This Role

Menlo School is seeking an Upper School History Teacher to inspire students, lead technical discussions, and mentor junior engineers, starting in August 2026. This role involves teaching Modern World History to 9th graders and American History to 10th graders.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four sections and two preps of Modern World History to 9th graders and American History to 10th graders
  • Oversee a ten-student advocacy group
  • Participate actively in Menlo's student life program
  • Cultivate environments that empower girls and students from underrepresented backgrounds
  • Engage students in culturally competent ways, recognizing implicit biases
  • Collaborate with other community members within the department and across the school
  • Commit to professional growth in discipline and teaching practice

Requirements

  • Graduate degree
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience
  • Ability to teach Modern World History to 9th graders
  • Ability to teach American History to 10th graders
