Underwriting Specialist

About This Role

As an Underwriting Specialist, you will manage a book of business by reviewing performance, analyzing market conditions, and collaborating with broker partners to offer tailored solutions to members. You will oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks according to guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and account closures.

Responsibilities

• Review book of business, track performance, and analyze market conditions and competition
• Build and manage broker relationships, develop goals and strategies, and craft tailored solutions for members
• Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines
• Ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts
• Manage higher complexity endorsements and review inspections
• Quote and bind new business and renewals, protecting membership interests
• Work closely with Territory Managers to develop meaningful broker relationships

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience underwriting
• Comfortable owning a book of business
• Direct, empathetic communication skills
• Ability to gather and analyze data for risk decisions
• Strong understanding of the market

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space

Nice to Have

• Experience in the high net worth space
• Heart of service and enjoyment in cultivating solid and impactful relationships with broker partners
• Ability to think outside the box and find creative solutions
