As an Underwriter at SBG Funding, you will evaluate funding applications and financial information to assess the creditworthiness of businesses seeking financing, playing a vital role in shaping the future of business funding.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate funding applications for business-to-business (B2B) lending by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, bank statements, and other relevant documentation to assess creditworthiness
- Perform detailed risk analyses to identify potential credit risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies
- Consistently apply underwriting guidelines and policies to funding applications, making informed decisions within established approval limits
- Collaborate closely with sales and other internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy and efficiency in the underwriting process
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with regulatory standards, lending policies, and internal compliance requirements
- Conduct regular credit reviews to monitor portfolio credit quality and proactively identify emerging risks
- Maintain meticulous records of underwriting decisions, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide insightful recommendations to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting roles within B2B lending
- Extensive knowledge of lending principles, credit risk assessment methodologies, and underwriting practices
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis, credit evaluation, and risk assessment
- Comprehensive understanding of lending regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements
- Strong analytical capabilities, decision-making aptitude, and problem-solving skills
- Independent working style with effective time management and multitasking abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in underwriting roles within B2B lending
