About This Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of a warehouse and truck gate by monitoring premises, controlling access, and responding to incidents. The position involves verifying credentials, inspecting vehicles, maintaining logs, and enforcing company policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and surveillance to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access within the warehouse.
• Verify credentials of staff, visitors, and delivery personnel entering and exiting the warehouse.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches.
• Ensure the safety and security of stored goods; report any discrepancies or damages.
• Maintain logs of daily activities, observations, and incidents.
• Enforce warehouse rules, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Check and verify driver credentials, vehicle documentation, and shipping/receiving paperwork at the truck gate.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks for unauthorized items or tampering.
• Maintain accurate records of all vehicle movements in gate pass/electronic systems.
• Confirm bill of lading or manifest against physical cargo to prevent theft or discrepancies.

Requirements

• DCJS Unarmed security License
• Weekend availability
• Moderate computer skills
• Neat in appearance and grooming
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background investigation
• Reliable transportation and phone
