Unarmed Security Clerk

About This Role

Serve as an Unarmed Security Clerk at the Suffolk Truck gate, primarily focusing on access control, detailed documentation, and incident response for a security guard and patrol company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access within the warehouse
• Verify credentials of staff, visitors, and delivery personnel entering and exiting the warehouse
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches
• Ensure the safety and security of stored goods; report any discrepancies or damages
• Maintain logs of daily activities, observations, and incidents
• Enforce warehouse rules, safety procedures, and company policies
• Assist in the training of new security personnel when needed
• Check and verify driver credentials, vehicle documentation, and shipping/receiving paperwork at the truck gate
• Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks for unauthorized items or tampering
• Maintain accurate records of all vehicle movements in gate pass/electronic systems
• Confirm bill of lading or manifest against physical cargo to prevent theft or discrepancies
• Coordinate with warehouse staff and management regarding truck issues
• Act as first responder to incidents at the gate and follow protocol
• Enforce company policies regarding gate access, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety compliance
• Prepare daily reports on gate activity, incidents, or security breaches

Requirements

• DCJS Unarmed security License
• Weekend availability
• Moderate computer skills
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background investigation
• Reliable transportation and phone
