The Trucking Compliance Specialist monitors and enforces DOT and FMCSA regulations, ensures safety, and manages critical records for IBP Longway Trucking LLC. This role involves training drivers, administering drug and alcohol testing, and assisting with incident investigations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce DOT and FMCSA regulations by reviewing driver and vehicle activity related to Hours of Service, licensing, and general safety.
- Identify compliance gaps and proactively resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver qualification files, maintenance records, and permit books.
- Lead and coordinate training sessions for drivers and management on accident prevention and regulatory updates.
- Support the company's drug and alcohol testing program and manage annual Motor Vehicle Record reviews.
- Assist with reporting and investigating accidents, near-misses, and property damage incidents.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in trucking, transportation, or safety management
- Strong working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Parts 300–399)
- Experience using fleet compliance software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in trucking, transportation, or safety management.
Nice to Have
- Experience using Samsara fleet compliance software
