Join the Rescue Mission as a CDL-B/A Truck Driver to transport and deliver donated goods, contributing to efforts to end hunger and homelessness in Central New York. This role involves operating a 26-foot straight truck, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring vehicle safety while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 26-foot straight truck to transport and deliver donated goods to Attended Donation Centers across Central New York
- Safely unload goods at donation centers and return carts of donations to the Liverpool warehouse for sorting and processing
- Document driving hours, fuel/toll receipts, and comply with driving regulations and company policies
- Perform truck inspections and conduct maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional interactions with donation center staff and the public
Requirements
- Clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations
- Ability to handle unexpected situations (e.g., traffic, weather)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
- Willingness to submit background and drug checks
- Truck maneuvering abilities
- Ability and willingness to carry out delivery instructions and report defects, accidents, and violations
- Air brake endorsement
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of previous driving experience preferred
