About This Role

This role involves planning, managing, and executing all aspects of assigned construction projects within the healthcare sector. The Superintendent 1 will be responsible for managing materials and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring project documentation is complete, and meeting project goals for timely and profitable completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the company’s safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment
  • Provide management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow
  • Manage and oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for projects
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work
  • Coordinate and manage the care, custody, and control of the project site
  • Lead various meetings including daily standup and weekly trade meetings
  • Create, manage, change, and implement the project’s schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Manage material and equipment needs for the project
  • Ensure quality compliance through use of specifications, setting quality standards, in–house QA/QC and outside resources
  • Support the project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with stakeholders

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years construction experience
  • 1+ years field supervision experience
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Intermediate communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate)
  • Knowledge of project processes and how each supports successful completion
  • Proficiency in project management and accounting software
  • Proficiency in required JE Dunn construction technology
  • Proficiency in scheduling software
  • Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy
  • Intermediate knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
  • Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work
  • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
  • Intermediate knowledge of layout skill
  • Intermediate knowledge of crane flagging and rigging
  • Ability to understand document changes and impact to the project schedule
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • 3+ years construction experience, with 1+ years field supervision experience
