Provide overall strategic direction and leadership on safety and health matters for JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG), ensuring the implementation of safety programs and methods. This role supports national safety goals and strategies within the region, providing statistical reports and leading safety training activities.
Responsibilities
- Implement, manage, and drive environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives to meet organizational goals.
- Measure environmental, health, and safety metrics and provide timely analytics using internal tools.
- Support Worker’s Compensation claims and collaborate with Risk and Insurance teams.
- Provide timely analytical information on safety, health, and worker’s compensation issues to Regional executives and other stakeholders.
- Lead the Drug and Alcohol program according to corporate policies and practices.
- Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Design, lead, and conduct environmental, health, and safety training for Regional safety team members.
- Lead investigation teams for serious or catastrophic safety matters within the Region.
- Collaborate with other safety professionals nationwide to monitor trends and provide recommendations.
- Own prequalification platforms (e.g., ISNET, Construct Secure) and provide input through client solutions partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health, construction management or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
- 10+ years construction safety experience
- 5+ years people management experience
- 2+ years budgeting or financial management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced)
- Ability to conduct effective presentations (Advanced)
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company safety regulations
- Proficiency in company safety software/programs, processes and tools (Advanced)
- Proficiency in SIMS (Site Information Management System)
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
- Knowledge of various testing protocols for noise and contaminants
- Knowledge of various testing protocols for environmental hazards
- Proficiency in required construction technology (Intermediate)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health, construction management or related field
- 10+ years construction safety experience, 15+ years safety leadership experience (preferred), 5+ years people management experience, and 2+ years budgeting or financial management experience.
Nice to Have
- 15+ years safety leadership experience
- Mission Critical, Industrial/Manufacturing or Advanced Industries experience
