Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse

About This Role

This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Telemetry, focusing on providing direct patient care in a surgical stepdown unit. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring telemetry, managing various medical devices, and caring for post-surgical patients during night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Read telemetry strips to monitor patient cardiac rhythms
• Manage chest tubes, NGTs, epidurals, and capnography for patients
• Care for post-surgical patients from various specialties including General, GYN, Vascular, Thoracic, Urology, Oral, Plastics, and Trauma surgeries
• Maintain a clinician to patient ratio of 3-5 patients per RN, with stepdown ratios of 2-3 per RN
• Utilize EPIC for charting and electronic medical records
• Work night shifts and every other weekend for 36 hours per week
• Be prepared for floating assignments within two Med/Surgical units

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN License
• 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Management of chest tube
• Management of NGT
• Management of epidurals
• Management of capnography

Qualifications

• 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience

• Management of arterial lines
• Management of neo-synephrine
