Travel Speech Language Pathologist

About This Role

Assess and treat patients requiring therapy for speech, hearing, or language deficits, helping them improve communication and swallowing skills in a travel assignment setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and/or language deficits
• Teach patients how to make sounds, improve voices, or increase oral/written language skills for effective communication
• Teach individuals to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid
• Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders
• Assess patient needs, plan for, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover communication and swallowing skills to fulfill educational, vocational, and social roles

Requirements

• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP
• At least one year of professional working experience
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current CPR certification
• Must have CCC's
