Join a skilled interdisciplinary team as a Travel Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week contract in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Long Term Care (LTC) setting, responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing deficits.
Responsibilities
- Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and language deficits
- Teach patients to make sounds, improve voices, or increase oral/written language skills for effective communication
- Teach individuals to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies for swallowing without choking or inhaling food/liquid
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient
- Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders
- Assess patient needs, plan for, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions
- Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or in the application process
- Current CPR certification
- SLP-CCC credential
