Travel Speech Language Pathologist

About This Role

Join a skilled interdisciplinary team as a Travel Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week contract in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Long Term Care (LTC) setting, responsible for assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing deficits.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients requiring treatment for speech, hearing, and language deficits
• Teach patients to make sounds, improve voices, or increase oral/written language skills for effective communication
• Teach individuals to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies for swallowing without choking or inhaling food/liquid
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient
• Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders
• Assess patient needs, plan for, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school
• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or in the application process
• Current CPR certification
• SLP-CCC credential

Qualifications

• Experienced Speech Language Pathologist / SLP
