Travel Respiratory Therapist

About This Role

Provide respiratory care to patients in Urbana, IL, encompassing equipment management, patient evaluation, and treatment recommendations. This role involves working as a travel respiratory therapist on a 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, wash, rinse, dry, and package respiratory equipment.
• Effectively evaluate the results of patient respiratory care delivered per care plans.
• Function as a role model in Respiratory Care demonstrating competency in clinical judgment, select technical skills, and appropriate knowledge base.
• Prepare and test respiratory therapy equipment for proper and safe operation and check equipment in use and on units for proper operations and routine service.
• Report malfunctioning equipment to manager.
• Process and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Accurately chart on respiratory flow sheets in the EMR and on care plans.
• Charge accurately in the EMR.
• Complete assessments on ventilator patients and all other patients on respiratory care services.
• Recommend timely interventions and the need for further treatment or referral in the participant's respiratory care regimen.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of all aspects of Respiratory care.
• Associate’s degree - Respiratory Therapy.
• BLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification required.
• Illinois RCP license required.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist required.
