About This Role

Provide direct nursing care to transplant surgery patients in a hospital setting, from simple to complex health problems, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Assist physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Deliver patient care competently
  • Interact with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures
  • Make referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
  • Delegate tasks to support staff

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • 1 year of nursing experience

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program
