Travel Nurse RN - Psychiatric

About This Role

Provide specialized psychiatric nursing care for patients with mental health issues, assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals. Collaborate with a medical team to deliver comprehensive patient care and manage psychotropic medications.

Responsibilities

• Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care
• Administer and monitor effectiveness and side-effects of psychotropic medications
• Assist patients, and families as appropriate, to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and to plan healthy lifestyle changes
• Exercise balanced judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Degree from accredited nursing program
• BLS Certifications
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting
