The Trauma Nurse Coordinator assesses, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the standards and delivery of care for either adult or pediatric trauma patients, from pre-hospitalization through reintegration into the community. This role drives performance and quality initiatives based on regional and national trauma standards.
Responsibilities
- Assess, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the standards and delivery of care for trauma patients
- Evaluate care from the pre-hospital phase through hospitalization, disposition, and reintegration
- Develop performance and quality initiatives based on regional and national trauma standards
- Focus on either pediatric (under 17) or adult (18 and older) trauma patients
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Alaska Registered Nurse License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification
- TNCC, ATCN, and Stop the Bleed Instructor certification (within 1 year of hire)
- Professional Nursing Certification (TCRN, CEN, CCRN, CFRN, or CPEN) (within 1 year of hire)
- 4 years of recent nursing experience in Emergency, Critical Care and/or Pediatric nursing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 4 years of recent nursing experience in Emergency, Critical Care, and/or Pediatric nursing.
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of experience in Trauma Registry and trauma care systems at the community, state, or national level.
