R.J. Corman Railroad Switching is seeking safety-minded individuals for an entry-level Train Crew Member position. This role assists in the daily operation of trains, with the eventual goal of becoming a Conductor, and requires performing duties to ensure efficient railroad operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all phases of the safe daily operation of trains
- Operate equipment according to company policies, procedures, and practices
- Operate track switches, couple cars, and work on trains in yard operations
- Move and align various parts of rail equipment to create or build trains
- Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars
- Handle increasing responsibilities, including Conductor duties
Requirements
- Safety-minded
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to develop teamwork and work with all levels of personnel
- Ability to give and receive instructions over radio
