About This Role

Maintain a healthy environment for shelter animals by performing daily cleaning, disinfection, and ensuring adequate care. Monitor animals for health concerns and assist with exercise and socialization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a healthy environment for shelter animals through careful disinfection techniques
• Observe proper animal handling to treat, prevent, and contain infectious diseases
• Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of common areas following prescribed shelter protocols
• Ensure all animals are provided with adequate food, water, bedding, and toys
• Monitor animals for signs of ill health and disease
• Notify supervisor to receive direction on treatment and implement prescribed medical treatments
• Exercise and socialize animals as directed and as time allows
• Complete laundry and dishes

Requirements

• Ability to properly and safely handle a variety of animals of different temperaments and in various conditions of health
• Knowledge of basic animal health care, animal behavior, and a commitment to animal welfare
