This Technologist role involves explaining procedures and processes to patients, performing medical assistant duties, and maintaining patient records in an orthopedic office setting. The position is responsible for patient care from rooming to EMR updates.
Responsibilities
- Explain procedures and processes to patients
- Room patients, take vital signs, update charts, and escort them to the imaging room
- Perform medical assistant duties, including recording vital signs, collecting health history, and updating Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and professional work environment
- Prepare patient charts according to the daily and/or weekly schedule, ensuring all records are accurate and available prior to visits
- Handle interoffice phone calls, respond to emails and communications from physicians and staff, and monitor the fax inbox
- Review and complete assigned tasks throughout the day
- Accurately complete and submit timesheets for payroll processing
- Complete all required training, including new hire onboarding, departmental training, and annual compliance
Requirements
- Laboratory experience
- Medical technology experience
- Ability to handle about 30 patients a day
- Comfortable with both tech work and CMA work
Qualifications
- More than 6 months of experience
