Teacher - Physical Education

About This Role

This role involves planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programs in physical education to foster student development and academic potential within Harmony Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support the mission, vision, and values of Harmony Public Schools
• Model and instill a love of learning in students
• Design and implement appropriate instruction for assigned content areas in accordance with school standards and curriculum
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual student needs
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing classroom rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with school rules and disciplinary systems
• Encourage and monitor individual student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to use computer software, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software
