About This Role

Implement and deliver an appropriate instructional program to guide and encourage students with special needs to develop their academic potential. This role involves planning lessons, monitoring student progress, and managing classroom behavior in accordance with school standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment
  • Design and implement appropriate instruction of assigned content areas in alignment with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials maximizing student engagement and learning
  • Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual needs of students
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Conduct tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs
  • Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system developing students’ character and sense of community
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to use effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to use computer including software, database, spreadsheet and word processing software

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
