About This Role

The Art Teacher will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate art instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop their academic and artistic potential. This role involves designing and delivering engaging lesson plans, managing student behavior, and monitoring student progress to adjust teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize student engagement and learning
• Design and implement appropriate instruction of content areas assigned in accordance with school standards, curriculum, and student needs
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies to meet individual needs of students
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, using relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
• Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs
• Attend department, school, district, and parent meetings; participate in staff development and serve on staff committees
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities, assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
