Serve the community by providing independent contract interpreting services in Swahili and English for various in-person appointments, including medical, educational, social, and legal settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide interpreting services as an independent contractor
- Help students in schools
- Assist patients in hospitals
- Break down communication barriers for multicultural communities
- Attend in-person appointments primarily
Requirements
- Fluently bilingual in English and Swahili
- US I-9 work authorization
- Willing and able to provide a background check
- Willing and able to provide a drug test
- Willing and able to primarily attend in-person appointments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Professional interpreter training/experience
- MMR, Varicella, Covid, and Flu vaccination records (for medical interpreting)
