Supervise nursing staff in the Surgery department at Providence Saint John’s Health Center, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services while maintaining clinical competence.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nurse Manager or Director in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit
- Manage and coordinate the unit's functions and activities
- Direct and supervise caregivers in the Surgery department
- Interpret policies, procedures, protocols, standards, and regulations
- Maintain clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or commitment to obtain within 3 years for those hired prior to 1/1/17)
- California Registered Nurse License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (upon hire)
- ANCC recognized specialty certification (upon hire or within 1 year of hire for those hired prior to 2/16/2022)
- 1 year of Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital in specialty area
- 1 year of Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital in a specialty area; 1 year of Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience
Nice to Have
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Shared Governance experience
