Student Nurse Tech - Surgical

About This Role

This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring patient needs are met and assisting with education and documentation in a surgical unit.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education
• Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology
• Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team
• Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures

Requirements

• Completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health)
• Enrolled in an accredited RN program

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited RN program
• No experience

Nice to Have

• Enrolled in an accredited BSN program
