The Pathways Internship Program offers structured, supervised, and career-connected learning experiences for students across high-impact fields like education, health, and public service. This program aims to reduce barriers to participation and strengthen career readiness by integrating academic learning with real-world practice through mentorship, reflection, and skill development.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations, projects, or programs aligned with the host organization's mission
- Participate in supervised, discipline-appropriate activities and observations
- Collaborate with professionals and staff within the organization
- Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Adhere to site-specific policies, ethical standards, and professional expectations
- Complete required reflections, documentation, or portfolio components for academic credit
Requirements
- Two years of postsecondary education (AA or at least third/junior year standing)
- Currently in good academic standing
- At least one relevant New College course (1 unit/4 credit hours) related to industries/disciplines of pathways program
- Interest in gaining hands-on experience in education, health, or a related professional setting
- Strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn, observe, and engage in reflective practice
- Ability to follow site-specific policies, safety procedures, and supervision guidelines
Qualifications
- Two years of postsecondary education (AA or at least third/junior year standing) and are currently in good academic standing. At least one relevant New College course (1 unit/4 credit hours) related to industries/disciplines of pathways program.
- Current undergraduate student pursuing or exploring a related field of study.
