Student Assistant, Intern – Pathways

About This Role

The Pathways Internship Program offers structured, supervised, and career-connected learning experiences for students across high-impact fields like education, health, and public service. This program aims to reduce barriers to participation and strengthen career readiness by integrating academic learning with real-world practice through mentorship, reflection, and skill development.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations, projects, or programs aligned with the host organization's mission
• Participate in supervised, discipline-appropriate activities and observations
• Collaborate with professionals and staff within the organization
• Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
• Adhere to site-specific policies, ethical standards, and professional expectations
• Complete required reflections, documentation, or portfolio components for academic credit

Requirements

• Two years of postsecondary education (AA or at least third/junior year standing)
• Currently in good academic standing
• At least one relevant New College course (1 unit/4 credit hours) related to industries/disciplines of pathways program
• Interest in gaining hands-on experience in education, health, or a related professional setting
• Strong communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn, observe, and engage in reflective practice
• Ability to follow site-specific policies, safety procedures, and supervision guidelines

Qualifications

• Two years of postsecondary education (AA or at least third/junior year standing) and are currently in good academic standing. At least one relevant New College course (1 unit/4 credit hours) related to industries/disciplines of pathways program.
• Current undergraduate student pursuing or exploring a related field of study.
