STNA / Resident Assistant

About This Role

Provide people-centered care to residents as an STNA/Resident Assistant, focusing on daily personal, physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs, while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide People Centered care to residents including grooming, bathing, feeding, and activities
• Answer call lights verbally or in person within 60 seconds
• Maintain resident functional abilities at optimum level using restorative devices and programs
• Maintain a clean, safe and inviting living environment for residents
• Follow facility policies and procedures for infection control by practicing standard precautions and OSHA guidelines
• Read, understand, implement and evaluate the residents current Plan of Care
• Update resident-related information and complete administrative responsibilities using computerized medical records systems
• Notify the charge/care team nurse of changes in resident condition, concerns, malfunctioning equipment, and material shortages

Requirements

• Active Ohio State tested nurse aid certification
• Ability to lift, push, pull or move 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally
• Ability to relate to and work effectively with the aging population
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Physical ability to fulfill the ongoing functions of the position

Nice to Have

• Experience caring for residents with dementia
• Experience working in long-term care
