Lead the technical strategy, architecture, and migration for an enterprise-wide ServiceNow IT Operations Management implementation. This Staff ServiceNow Architect will build the operational backbone of the Service Registry and CMDB from the ground up, impacting the company's ability to deliver solutions and demonstrate operational resilience.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale migration from legacy ITSM/asset management systems to ServiceNow
- Design phased migration strategy: data migration, system cutover, integration planning, risk mitigation
- Coordinate across teams, vendors, and stakeholders; ensure zero downtime for critical operations
- Own CMDB data migration: assessment, cleansing, validation, reconciliation
- Design Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data model for financial services context
- Architect Discovery & Service Mapping strategy for on-prem, cloud, containers, and SaaS
- Design integration architecture for 50+ systems including monitoring, cloud, ITSM, identity, and ticketing
- Support the leadership team with building, coaching and developing a world-class ServiceNow team
- Ensure compliance with SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, FINRA, SEC, and GLBA
- Drive CMDB accuracy to 95%+ and evaluate emerging capabilities like AI/ML and AIOps
Requirements
- 10+ years IT operations/infrastructure experience
- 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow experience
- 5+ years leading technical teams
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Service Management
- Led 2+ ServiceNow migrations from legacy systems
- Deep ITOM expertise: CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management
- Expert in ServiceNow architecture, scripting (JavaScript), Integration Hub, MID Servers
- CMDB data modeling, CI reconciliation, service mapping, discovery automation
- Integration expertise: REST APIs, middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi), CI/CD
- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience with infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC (Terraform)
- Experience with monitoring tools integration: Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus
- Understanding of FINRA, SEC, OCC, FDIC, GLBA, SOX requirements
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations and audit readiness
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2 frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years in IT operations/infrastructure; 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow experience; 5+ years leading technical teams; 5+ years in financial services technology.
Nice to Have
- 5+ years in financial services technology (banking, broker-dealer, fintech, payments) experience
- One additional CIS domain preferred (Discovery/Service Mapping)
- Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification (or commitment to achieve within 18 months)
- Additional CIS certs (ITSM, ITAM, SecOps)
- Cloud certs (AWS/Azure Pro)
- TOGAF, CISSP, ITIL 4 certifications
- Chaos engineering experience
- DevOps/SRE background
- ServiceNow community contributions
