Sr IAM Engineer

About This Role

Join Apex's Identity Services team as a Senior Identity Access Management Engineer, improving and maintaining Apex's IAM systems. Design, develop, and implement identity management infrastructure and processes, focused on cloud and automation-first solutions.

Responsibilities

• Take full technical ownership and oversight of Apex’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) toolchain.
• Lead the administration, optimization, and support of the entire lifecycle of employee access, account provisioning, entitlements, deprovisioning, and more.
• Design, develop, and maintain scripts and interfaces to streamline IAM processes.
• Automate and integrate identity-related processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
• Work directly with teams across the organization to support, maintain, design, and build IAM solutions.
• Stay ahead of new and emerging technologies and proactively identify opportunities to improve Apex’s IAM systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years Identity and Access Management experience
• SSO implementation and management experience
• Experience administering and integrating with Okta, Workday, Active Directory, Google Workspace, M365
• Experience implementing, managing, and administering Softerra Adaxes
• Experience Windows and Linux administration in enterprise environments
• Deep knowledge of IAM technologies (SSO, MFA, privileged access management)
• Expertise with security/authorization models and protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC)
• Strong skills in Python and PowerShell for scripting and automation
• Superior troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Ability to localize failures in distributed systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience)
• 5+ years of proven experience with Identity and Access Management solutions, SSO implementation and management.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT
